Way More Than Charging Your Phone

Charging your smartphone is a necessary part of everyday life. We plug in at night, after school or work, in the morning while getting ready to run out the door, or overnight while asleep. No matter your daily “charging schedule,” App Dudes totally transforms a meh activity into something fun and interactive.

When you use your App Dudes as a charging dock, you can play around with its functionality to integrate it with your daily activity.

In the morning or when you get home, open the App Dudes app on your smartphone and slide it into your App Dudes character. Choose your Marvel Avenger and then select Full Mode. Slide your smartphone into your App Dudes character.  As you go about your business at home, your App Dudes will come alive with cool facial expressions and random, witty remarks. Why just charge your smartphone in the usual, boring way when you could be hanging out with Captain America or Iron Man?

If you’re charging overnight, you may as well take advantage of the built-in alarm clock functionality. Before you go to bed, open the app, set your alarm, and then select Sleep Mode, which will trigger a “goodnight” phrase from your Marvel Avenger just as you hit the hay. Rather than an annoying alarm or radio DJ, you will wake up to a funny reminder from your App Dudes that the world needs saving!

Don’t just charge your phone — bring your App Dudes to life!

Where did Captain America Get His Vibranium Shield?

There are distinct elements that factor into the transformation of Steve Rogers into Captain America. From his iconic red, white and blue suit, to the helmet on his head with a big embossed “A”. But perhaps the most identifiable feature is his shield — a staple for the fighting technique of one of the quintessential characters in the Marvel Universe.

But, not everyone knows where Steve Rogers first got his shield, or what it’s actually made of. The shield is crafted from Vibranium Steel alloy and it can pretty much stand up to anything, even some intense forces, such as the strength of a particularly large, green character in the Marvel Universe.

Back to what the shield really is, it was a project, much like Captain America himself, of the US government. It was created by scientists to construct an armor material that would be indestructible, and could be used to aid in the war effort.

The shield is so synonymous with its holder Captain America, that it’s no surprise Cap mentions it many times when playing with the Captain America App Dudes Smartphone Stand. Cap explains what his shield is made of, and how it can protect him from virtually anything.

How Did Tony Stark Transform Into Iron Man?

As a boy genius growing up in Long Island, New York, it seemed that Tony Stark had a conventionally successful life waiting for him. He attended MIT to study electrical engineering and physics at the tender age of 15 and had an easy path to money and status, becoming the wealthy CEO of Stark Industries.

Part of the business included weapons manufacturing, and it was on a trip overseas to field test one of their new products that Tony Stark found himself the target of a booby trap. In the process, he was taken hostage by Wong-Chu, an underground mercenary, while shrapnel from the booby trap remained lodged in his chest. Though Stark remained alive, he knew that the shrapnel was moving closer and closer to his heart, which would mean death.

Wong-Chu offered Stark a terrible deal — he could go home, but only after developing a devastating weapon to be used against America and its allies. Stark agrees, in order to give himself more time to plan an escape, and in the process is given access to a technical lab.

Luckily, another captive of Wong-Chu was a famous physicist, Ho-Yinsen. Together, Stark and Ho-Yinsen created a magnetic chest plate for Tony Stark which would keep the shrapnel away from his heart, so long as it remained charged. The duo develop a suit of powered armor that Tony Stark uses to escape his captors, although Ho-Yinsen tragically dies in the escape.

Who is Jarvis?

When your Iron Man App Dudes references “Jarvis” just who — or what — is he speaking to?

In the cinematic universe, J.A.R.V.I.S. is an Artificial Intelligence system that stands for “Just a Rather Very Intelligent System.” But there is more to the story of “Jarvis.” The AI program is actually based on the classic Marvel comics figure Edwin Jarvis, who served as butler to Tony Stark’s parents and to their son and then the rest of the Avengers. Edwin Jarvis was present for the very first meeting of the Avengers, called by Iron Man, and was once called an honorary member of the Avengers by none other than Captain America.
